EJVisualEars Rooms: An Immersive Experience | JULY 31, 2021
2021.07.21
Hi all! Excited to announce that I'll be participating in the virtual exhibition "VisualEars Rooms", a master's thesis project designed and curated by York University's Shafagh Hadavi. The exhibition seeks to find how visual artists perceive music, and how the simultaneous experience of music and visual arts affects mood in the audience through ethnographic research. My work, "Trace and Collapse" is a visual representation of the musical piece "A Trace of Grace" performed by Alim Qasimov, Hüsnü Senlendirici, Rauf Islamov, Michel Godard. You can find it in the second room of the exhibition (as well as the Portfolio page of my website).
The exhibit will be available August 1, 2021 @ www.visualearsproject.com, I'd love for all of you to check it out and support all the other talented artists involved in this project!

EJNEW POST! | APRIL 28 2021
2021.04.28
Hi all! New post out today. Been looking back on some older pieces for textural inspiration and found that this one - my first book project for an Artists Books and Multiples class - had exactly that. Gritty, grainy, tactile, coarse, and static. A form of visual ambience that struck me with a newfound perspective from which the initial direction of the project had thrusted. Hoping to correlate this revelation with my current research in acoustic ecology and photo manipulation. You can find a larger display of this image in the gallery, "Untitled 1", through my portfolio page!
